Default 30 years/altoholics - what would be your one class?

I have played EverQuest going on near 30 years now (thank you to P99 for keeping the classic experience alive).

Obviously we all have alts, you main one char and have another/another/another - raid on whatever is needed, bots etc. to do what is needed.

But in terms of pure fun and enjoyment, if you could only play one class without needing another to (insert specific reason here). E.g. only say Necro or Enchanter if those classes truly give you the most enjoyment, not because they would be the best for doing everything you need/want to do on your own (unless of course that is your true enjoyment).

What class would you play?

I would have to agree with you on Shaman.

I love the ability to melee, slow, have a pet, heal, make potions. Every time I log into my Shaman it makes me happy to play!

#Thread.

It really comes down to what OP said, bard is the only class I've played where I've enjoyed 100% of everything I've ever done (sure there are frustrations). Every other class, which I've played pretty much all of them, encounters some point in time where I'm just ready to be done with that toon.

Does root rotting make you happy? Cuz my shammy grinding through lvl 58 right now and shit sucks. Any signs of a group forming up, even with people I know are annoying or it being crazy inefficient I'm jumping at the chance just to get away from the mind numbing root rot. Had a ton of fun on Shammy 1-55. But 55-60 making me regret I ever rolled one.

I enjoy root rotting as a method for leveling, so it wouldn't bother me - but I am not there yet.

Enchanter. Some people don't like it, but the fact that any minor mistake might result in death doing high-level camps keeps me engaged. I also just like how all the skills synergize so well and there are so many useful spells you have to make some difficult choices. Like having an AE mez on my bar is a nice safety net, but maybe I don't want to sacrifice wandering mind or something so I rely on my stun(s) to buy me time to open my spell book, mem mesmerize and cast it. I also like the variety of different camps you can do on enchanter to keep things interesting.

Depends what you mean by "play one class."

That can mean a lot of things.
  1. 1-60
  2. Raid
  3. PvP
  4. Solo
  5. Group
  6. Farming at 60
  7. Etc

That's why it's a hard question to answer.

Use JBB and slow tank instead, assuming you aren't an iksar. I did that from 45-60 no problem. Root mobs off to the side if there is more than one and deal with them one at a time. You'll kill each individual mob much faster than a single root rot.

PoM Rat Maze is the best XP i could find 58-60 solo. Not very exciting, but you'll get 1 blue bubble an hour if there isn't too much competition.
