From what I know of the OP’s goals that he’s previously stated in other threads, it’s not about the gear as much as the experience of raiding or doing a difficult or lucrative camp

So the recommendation of grinding plat to buy group or raid gear isn’t going to be as appealing

Hope I not putting the wrong words in your mouth OP. I agree with you that the high end especially on green is probably too cutthroat, and because of that like you I also don’t bother

This may not be a viable due to your schedule, but you could try playing late at night. Both servers have lower pop at that time, so you have more opportunities to grab camps.

Go to bed early and set up an alarm to wake yourself up.

If you can only play on peak population hours, then unfortunately it is going to be tough to land a highly contested camp.

I saw a dude wearing full golden efreeti, a wizard epic, and a dragon helm the other day.

Pretty sure dreams come true on this server.

No, that's basically all correct.

I spent so long on this server porting many of you as a member of DaP, taking groups to far off Wakening Lands and the like, watching them run along their merry way to great adventures and legendary treasures, all the while wishing I could join them. But no one's going to take a wizard for anything and even if I did a pity tag along, they'd never dream of letting me loot anything. This was before it got to be too much and I committed probably the closest thing to EQ suicide by letting the gnomes in WW beat me up from levels 52 to 4.

Kept that character around because he was one of the lucky few to ever get something interesting; a seaworthy planking. But no one wanted to buy that and I just deleted the character recently. Can't even succeed in that fashion I guess.

Tried again on another character but it's all just the same. Can't win anything, feel like a massive loser, don't want to confront anyone or try to cheat my way into a decent camp. Just watched guilds scramble around with all of their underhanded tricks and tactics to one-up each other on boss kills during the quake last night. I don't have a chance on this server. How does one compete against that?

Just want to feel some kind of victory one of these days, that's all.

If you want to start feeling the magic again, I would start by doing something that can be done basically solo, but isn't a highly contested camp. Not sure how it is on Green, but https://wiki.project1999.com/Coldain...r_Shawl_Quests is doable mostly solo, it's fun in my opinion, and you get a great item at the end. The items you need to complete the quests aren't from highly contested camps, and the hardest part (the Sirens Grotto items) can be obtained by asking a level 60 druid to help you.

I did this quest when I was level 51 or 52 on my Shaman.

You can always join a guild like GG or Kingdom. GG has no Raider requirements or rules for bidding on items. You earn dkp and spend it however you like. Kingdom I believe requires 10% raid attendance and being level 60.

I appreciate the suggestion. I actually am working on that now, currently on shawl 3. The drops are definitely slow going, especially by myself, but i'm slowly but surely making progress. Definitely am anxious about the later parts though, as I don't have any enchanter friends so I will probably have to pay the exorbitant prices that they'll ask for their goods. I also don't have any 60 druid friends, and I'm honestly afraid to ask any of them for help. A druid who got that far is probably sick to death of being asked by random nobodies like me for things.

They would never let someone like me in.
