Default Skipping Test of Patience

The Shield of Falsehood from the Shaman Epic questline looks easily solo/duo-able at ~lvl 34 except for the test of patience, where i'm asked to sit in shark infested water. I'd really rather not, if it can be helped.

Does anybody know how many gem turn-ins I need to do in North FP before I can directly do the shield of falsehood quest? 0? 2? 5?

There is 1 level 40 Killer Shark that you might possibly run into if you follow the npc through the water, but it does not path to the actual Test of Patience spot, which is -1580.86, 4170.95, -285.13. You can do it easily if you just scout the area a bit.

Just did this at level 30. The higher level Killer Shark comes around where the NPCs spawn that you have to talk to but its easily avoided. Just keep your eyes out and keep spining to scout the area. Takes some time but its worth it.
