Default Trouble when using 960m GPU on laptop

Hi all, I've been playing for a year or so on a ASUS laptop with the typical integrated intel graphics/nvidia GPU combo. Mine happens to have a GTX 960m GPU.

I've always used the integrated figuring if the game could play on my P2 1998 beast of a computer, whatever came in this laptop should be fine. But recently I decided to try see if it was any faster/better on the 960m. After finally forcing it to use the GPU (nvidia's global thing, add eqgame.exe, select default gpu -which actually works since apparently it doesn;t for some) my game is actually worse. When playing the screen (sorry for technical terms) like flashes pixelation of blue or pinkish pixels all over the screen in diff areas, then goes back to normal a second or 2 later, then happens again etc. Any clue how to fix this? My driver according to the nvidia app is the newest one.

Try going to options at the login screen and selecting your gpu again. You can also try to rename your eqclient.ini file (purely for backup reasons). When you launch the game again settings will be at default and you can try to fix it from there.

Also, if you haven't already you might want to try installing the latest Nvidia drivers.

I have the same issue with the same ASUS ROG laptop with the 960m and the 4600 Intel Integrated.

I've written it off to the two video cards fighting each other to process the graphics EQ graphics.

I would also get freezes/crashes.

NVIDIA drivers don't fix the SLI trying to occur between the Intel on-board and NVIDIA GPUs.

Set the Nvidia global setting to use the GPU and then limit the in game (EQ) FPS to 30. This was my fix, ASUS GL552VW with 960M, Win 10.

Ive done the global, and gotten EQ to use the 960(atleast according to when I go to the options /display/advanced in-game). NEver tried the 30fps, kinda pathetic but guess I'll give it a whirl.
