Default Dot proc hate?

How exactly does it work? If it is poison based, there is a 400 hate counter added but what about magic/fire?

Does only the first tick count? Do they all count at once? what about the additional ticks?

If you get hate for the total damage component for dots infestation is 400+162

Answer: I’m not sure how it precisely works and I’m not sure anyone does who doesn’t write the actual p99 coding.

Tested with a druid and necro. Druid did initial agro by punching a mob (initial agro is capped somehow). The necro pulled the mob off of the druid with heat blood (no initial damage or poison/disease counters). The druid then pulled the mob off of the necro with Burst of Flame (level 1 fire DD for 5 points of damage). It took between 1 and 3 busts of flame to initially pull it off (depending on how many tics that dot had done). The mob then turned to the druid and after a few tics returned back to the necro.

Conclusion dot agro is added per tic.

Wait, someone actually tested something instead of just shouting loudly about how they're right?!?

Dots give aggro per tick you don't gotta test believe me im very smrt.

Any high level necro could have verified this by the way. Toss 5 dots on a mob and do nothing by the time dots tick down you'll have pulled aggro.

main is druid, we dots. can confirm that you can get aggro on any tick that puts you back on top of list.

However,
Do you know if it is the same on proc-based DoTs from weapons?
I don't think I ever actually played with a dot-proc on my melee characters...

Haynar: Capped non-damage hate component for out of class procs/clickies to 400 hate.

Not for damage.
