ye not sure waht chewie is even crying about. besides gloinz, he was the number 1 zone hopper/plugger on the server. he wasnt worried about xp loss because he was always ready to throw his modem out the window.

mindless grinding isnt for everyone. and before you say thats what eq1 is all about then you probably didnt play classic. min/maxers and poopsockers were the minority. unfortunately the player base is completely different on p99. classic eq was pretty casual and it made the game a lot more enjoyable. i was also 14 years old and had a lot more time on my hands. xp loss on pvp death at 50+ was highly discouraging to anyone with a life outside the box.

If it was only 1% I don't think anyone would give a shit dude. It was a lot more than that, and it only got worse the higher level you got.

I'm all for consequences but you have to make them not shitty enough that it creates a server where 99.99% of people engage in gay behavior like zone-hopping and /quitting at the slightest whiff of PvP.. Yet make them still bad enough that PvP deaths aren't anything, either.

xp loss on pvp death is like getting a traffic ticket. to the wealthy, its a slap on the wrist but to the blue collar working man just trying to make a living its a low blow to the testicles. its a system that was keeping the poor poorer and the rich richer or in our case the zerg zerging.
