Default Quitting MTG to play Yugioh

Any card players here? I have tons of magic cards and I play casually at locals

hoping to start expanding my mtg collection to include some legacy cards

from like the dark or arabian nights

decided to try out Yugioh since a friend of mine said it was "super cool"

and I have to admit it is pretty cool!

kinda reminds me of a childhood ctg me and friends played called "Vangaurd"

rules seem to be a bit more complicated than MTG but I like the artstyle a lot

too bad there aren't many places to play yugioh near me

example of yugioh cards:

examples of MTG cards:

(Legacy) MTG cards I really want (too bad they're too expensive!):

It’s hard to beat the art on those old magic cards. I don’t really play anymore, but I keep like five legacy decks ready to go in case somebody challenges me to a wizard battle. I sometimes think about selling some of my old cards, but I can’t really bring myself to do it.

The yugi oh cards are a brilliant frenzy of insanity to me while the MTG cards are pretty calming.

Sit on ur MTG cards like a dragon on its hoard. I gave mine away and lookit me now.

Live your best life. Start a yugioh gambling book. Make some fucking money. Competition = money.

I should also say, when I was doing some gaming at shops, it seemed like the yugioh scene was filled with some extremely unsavory characters. Real chomo vibes.

I have a co-worker who plays both, he got the highest rank (I think called Mythic?) last month in MTG Arena. He always says to play MTG Arena rather than with the physical cards, although he has a huge collection of both. He says it's just much easier and cheaper cost-wise to play Arena. He says they already ported it to phone too but it (phone beta) only runs on the highest end androids atm

He also plays Yugioh, I think called Duel Links? On the phone. He prefers MTG to it but I dunno why since I don't closely follow either

I have a good friend who is obsessed with collecting cards (baseball cards, NBA cards, mtg cards, pokemon cards, basically anything and everything). He swears up and down that its a great investment and that the card market is roaring back...he is one of those creepers who know the delivery schedule to stores and goes and buys shit right as it is delivered.

If I were any of you I would sell all this shit right now before it crashes again.

I also have a 40 y/o facebook acquaintance who is currently obsessed with collecting Pokemon cards, so i guess there really is a market for this crap.

However, MTG is for incels - although in my youth I loved collecting the cards (i rarely actually played, just built decks and battled my 3-4 friends who played) it's probably the single gayest hobby one can have.

MTG is great. Commander has revitalized the entire game. All my cards from 25 years ago are awesome and worth a ton now. I play every Friday.
