Ranger call of flame

Approaching late 40s on my ranger and considering doing this quest or paying the 2k plat for the call of flame spell when I am 50. However, with firestrike (DD nuke that does 100 more dmg) approaching at 52, I don't see much value in even getting call of flame. Am I missing something?

Cast time is over 2x as long on firestrike

The MM part of the quest is rough; I think if you can find the spell <2k it might be worth it.

Pref it to firestrike casting time is nice.

They do not share a cooldown - aka you can use both. Very useful while soloing or burning (haha!) HP on targets that need to die quickly. More than worth it, but I wouldn’t try soloing the quest until well past 49.

Call of Flame -> not worth the time you have to put into it. 18 Second Recast Time. , 25 mana less then firestrike, and does less dmg then firestrike. Just use firestrike!

I can't remember using it more than a couple times just because it was shiny and cool
If you are a completionist and want your spells for your level get it sure, but it will sit with eyes of the cat in your spell book never being used

Can a 52 ranger solo Vance for the final part? Mostly kunark bis with epics, sky cloak, fungi

Probably not.

My Ranger is similarly equipped @ 60 and even fully self buffed using a WeaponShield Disc during fight I was not able to get him to 20% before he got me to 20%.

He summons so fight at ZL if you want to test yourself. Also rules out just bow-kiting him dead.

A single Druid healing me though was all I needed to 1v1 him in melee.
