Necro/Mage requires no gear. Farm bone chips for necro and sell trash to buy malachite for mage and fear/kite & pet tank to 60. Imo it'd be the easiest pure XP duo that requires literally 0 gear.

I just want to point out that a major drawback of having an enchanter as part of the duo is that the enchanter needs to be paying attention 24/7. For some people that's not an issue but if you have a kid and need random 5 minute breaks, or even have a small bladder, it creates a much larger annoyance compared to a non-charming class.

figure out how you want to play --- solo, duo, in group play and raiding.
I know people who only have 1 Druid and they play the shit out of them for solo, raid, group, everything and they do amazing stuff. I have a druid that I started with but really only play him for certain specific instances -- helping out buddies, buffing, some fun solo stuff, porting people, helping out with quests, etc. On the other hand I love my rogue but mostly only play him for raiding and helping out my guild b/c he's a DPS machine. The classes are super unbalanced so figure out what you want to do, narrow your choices down to a few classes that you may like, then choose two that compliment each other.

enchanter + necro is also good, especially if the target has tons of hp (necro can use pet, and only charm if the camp is easy to handle)

SK / Rogue can be fun if you stick to fear kiting
