Meditate required you to have the spell book open before level 12ish(?) in addition to the previously mentioned bug about meditate working at lvl 1

I don't think meditate does anything with 1 point in it.

I believe any meditate above 0 will speed up your memorization; that's why bards get meditate with a cap of 1.

Off the top of my head wasn't it lvl 35 to not need to stare at book, and wasn't that feature added a while after launch?

Bump. On green beta you can mediate by just sitting without having the book open, even at low levels.
