Does it pretty much only make sense to apply once you hit 60, or are there applicants who come in at lower levels (55 in my case) and hang out a while as non full members, then get voted on once they hit 60? Would you be expected to hit 60 within 30 days of applying?

We have quite a few 55-59 apply too. You can only make full member once you hit 60, so we tell our applicants they should focus on levelling over raiding until they hit 60. But we have guild groups going all the time, and you can still make it to raids to start earning DKP throughout your application process.

If it takes you more than 30 days to hit 60 we can extend your application period. Essentially, to make full member you need:

Level 60
30+ days served
125 worn, unbuffed magic resist
A suite of raid clickies (~5k plat to buy)
20%+ raid attendance over a 30 day period

Once all of those are done, you are put up for a 7 day vote during which any full member can vote yes/no/extend. If at the end of 7 days you have 70% or higher yes votes, you make full member.

You earn DKP from as soon as you get tagged, and you can still bid on items from day 1. A full member bid with 10% or higher raid attendance will always beat an applicant bid, but we do have applicants who pick up some nice items from rots. The nice thing with this is typically apps pick up any items for 0.5-1.5 DKP bids, as you’re only effectively bidding against other apps.

Usually VP loot, some low tier ToV loot, and we had a couple primal rots recently which an app picked up for free.

As much as all guilds like lvl 60 apps. Its nice to have 55+ apps in the guild. We get a chance to group, no better way to get to know someone then to find an xp spot, and get that grind on.

With Aftermath's loot system we have a ton of 50+ twinks we all love playing.
