I remember the day Red99 opened and the community of Blue improved noticeably.

Some of the most annoying, pathetic personalities on Blue disappeared overnight and went into containment over on Red.

Wasn't always that way. Red pop was decent at launch until people realized "Oh shit, PvP in EQ actually sucks balls and the people here are even more terrible than on blue"

And then they all moved out to the suburbs and here we are today:

Even if we moved back to red now we'd just end up gentrifying the place.

red is where the skilled, enlightened players go to avoid playing with the plebian masses. we don't want you on there anyways you wouldn't last long.

Everquest pvp has always been about griefing newbs...turns out a lot of folks don't enjoy being griefed though but you can't blame a dog for barking...
