Default SK Piercing Skill

I see this question asked elsewhere, but can't really find an answer....

I've been using a 2hp item on my SK but recently realized that the skill only goes up to 210. Is the damage difference between a 210 skill 2hp and a 225 skill 2hs enough where I should switch my weapon out (assuming equal damage ratio)? Would a 2hp with a slightly better ratio still be worse than a 2hs?

I can't seem find the formula for how weapon skill impacts dps, but perhaps I'm just overlooking it. Thanks in advance.

afaik weapon skill only affects your ATK, so you should be able to directly see the difference swapping between different skill weapons. And you could compare that difference to, say, how much you feel Grim Aura makes a difference.

There is a 14 dps difference for 10 more skill at level 60 using the same ratio weapon on Vindi as a warrior. That’s 240 piercing and 250 slash.
Good info thank you. To help put this in perspective, how much dps would a pre-endgame raiding geared level 60 SK do? (Think skyshrine turn in armor, exquisite 2 hander, spiked seahorses belt)

Will even take a guesstimate of any gear level for a 60 SK. Not near 60 yet myself or is just parse myself. Thanks in advance, just trying to get perspective.

Yeah, you'll miss more with a piercing weapon. On my SK, I keep my big dmg spear in the bag unless I've got dex buffs.
Sk dps can fluctuate wildly depending on your gear so a parser is a must if you want to make sure you are using the right weapon for the situation.

i've found on my sk that he gets more satisfied face-slapping victims when taking the blunt out of his pants. the piercer gets some reaction but it's spikey and the slasher just parses all over the place prematurely so they both stay in the sack. all require two hands to use properly, as would any weapon used by an sk with some pride.
