I decided I will make a high elf paladin. Good starting wisdom charisma isn't bad. I can do a quest for a necklace can root as well as well. I would make a halfling paladin if I could skarlorn. Sadly p99 will never have that option.

I have never played a tank type class so I will have a lot to learn.

Your cha should be good starting, wisdom good starting, Sta should be low and str low. The reason why you should put points into STA is because -> Late game, theres only 1 sta buff for like what.. 50? But theres two Str/Dex buffs [You must be logged in to view images. Starting high elf strength is 65 on a paladin, a full set of small bronze plate weighs 64.7 lbs. If you want to carry anything else you are encumbered. I would suggest 10-15 points of your 20 into str if you would like to not have to deal with encumbrance issues constantly. Str gear is plentiful & cheap, weight reduction bags typically are not, but if you are starting from scratch the ability to equip & carry more things before having to sell is the biggest benefit you can give yourself.

Stamina for more HP is certainly something to aim for on any character especially tanks, but the return is trivial even at level cap compared to most cheap +hp gear early/mid level.

Yep and this is why I've never put a single starting stat point on any of my characters (even warrior) into stamina. I've never regretted that decision, even once level 60.

What up bud?

Some armor I always figured I'd buy for a hybrid is Sebilite Scale. Pretty cheap with really good all around stats without debuffing charisma.

To each his own. *shrug* on a paladin i think putting charisma would be just as useful as putting all str if not more useful.. At least then you can have a higher chance to single pull instead of failing and pulling more then 1 mob and dying.. At least you can carry 2 more fine steel weapons though right?
