tether is used also to buy alt coins which explains why they recovered even faster than btc.

volume on exchanges that use fiat to buy btc are lower than exchanges which use tether, in fact binance had 6x the volume of gdax 3 days ago.

even if tether did have every dollar in a bank its a loophole to get around regulations and in my opinion could be potentially seized, and thats a best case scenario considering how non transparent tether and bitfinex are.

if you didn't know, bitfinex is a high volume exchange which has majority shares in tether. bitfinex also earns over 1 million a day in fees.
