Completed my first Triathlon event yesterday.

1/4 Mile Swim, 12 Mile Bike and a 3 mile run

Did almost no training, completed it in 1:33.

I did two wow quests. And I am still conscious. Going to go for a nice long nap infront of star-gate-atlantis now.

Took 3 year old camping with her 6 year old brother for the first time. It definitely required a lot more parenting than when I take just the 6 year old by himself but I'm psyched that he wanted her to come, and that she had a great time and is talking about what we should do when when we go camping "tomorrow" (which is 3 year old for "sometime in the future").

I notice that when it’s triple digits out, the percent of people that finish the advanced mountain trail hike I do every weekend drops to around 30%. Whereas when it’s winter it’s more like 80%. And the reason so many have to turn around in triple digit heat is they didn’t budget their water well. One bottle of water is not gonna cut it

Whereas me, I bring enough water for me and the leezards - gave a smaller female one some today. I could still do this hike in 110+ degree heat ez, except at that temp the rubber that holds my shoes together (such as the sole to the shoe) starts to melt/dissolve, and my phone can sometimes give an overheating warning

Overheard this girl talking to her friend on my way down from my hike. She seemed a bit overweight, like maybe she was getting back into working out

She’s saying “the weed made me feel relaxed and not jittery from my pre-workout, and my pre-workout made me feel energetic and not lazy from the weed. So they like balance each other out in a really good way. I’m going to try this again”

I’m smiling and thinking that was me years ago. Been doing the combination for years
