idgaf about gun debates one way or the other, but a gun isn't going to help you against another aggressor with a gun in 90% of situations outside home invasions. You're going to get murdered, car-jacked, or mugged just the same because their gun is out and yours is not.

That is absolutely complete bullshit and betrays your total ignorance of how guns work or the reality of gun control legislation. I hope I don't have to bring up the whole "criminals don't care about gun laws" thing.

It's an equalization of force, plain and simple. A 100 pound vulnerable woman with a gun is going to do a hell of a lot better against a rapist than if she only has pepper spray or whatever. You just aren't gonna see "woman saves her own life using a gun" on msnbc any time soon.
