I realized today I absolutely hate facebook. It's such a disgusting egotistical self involved platform for narcissistic adult children. It's like a 7th grade lunch table of gossipy chicks. It's completely awful for the human condition and basic human socialization. ANTI-social media, indeed.

Never used facebook. It was always marketed as the 'boomer' platform so I avoided it.
like, why would you want to be around more old people? ya know?

Untrue. It was an online yearbook for university students to share pics of nights out and stuff?

Not a clue and blissfully ignorant too boot.
I'd be embarrased to use such pathetic algorithms to try and pass it off as a knowledgable eq player. The bot owner may have played, who cares though.
2/10 although it was fun watching you bunch your panties up calling someone else a bot.
2.5/10 tops.

I remember the year was 2007 or 2008? And my friends and I all used MySpace. Then Facebook just came in like a wrecking ball and all my MySpace friends stopped logging in to the platform and when I asked them where they'd been they said they switched to Facebook. Literally every person I knew who used social media switched to Facebook and it forced me to switch if I wanted to chat up my friends. Idk what the hype was because I hated the Facebook UI and felt it was clunky and hard to get used to using. Before I knew it though in a matter of 1-2 months MySpace was dead and Facebook was all the rage. I ended up quitting the platform for good in 2013 and I've never been back. Thought about joining X/Twitter but decided against it. Social media is awful imho and makes me more anti social when I use it.

Anyway sorry for the derail. As for the outrage, I didn't notice anything personally. I think it probably really happened but my tin foil hat says there's more to it than we're told.

Organising events was a lot better on facebook. It still works pretty well even now.

It's kind of a trip to think about now, I signed up for facebook when it required a .edu email address and it was roughly the same time youtube first launched
