Enchanter illusions
Hey guys, another noob enchanter question (following on from spell specialization) [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Some of the illusions enchanters can use seem to come with benefits attached, troll illusion seems to come with some troll regen - and having used the ogre illusion I don't think I've been stunned once trying to recharm a pet or whatnot. So (seemingly) the enchanter takes on the positive attributes of the illusion, does he then also take on any racial exp penalty with it? Would be interested to know. Also on a sidenote, does the skeleton illusion slow down HP regen? | ||

Hey there, nice to hear about the ogre illusion thing, i didn't know that.
As far as xp penalty, i am 99.999% sure they don't get the penalty. If so, I've been doing it wrong for about 55 levels, cause I'm always using illusions. | ||

No. Some illusions have benefits. Troll is regen. Fire elemental is a damage shield. Water elemental makes you breath underwater. Air elemental is levitate. Dry bones is fire resist, I think. Earth elemental is strength buff. Werewolf has some melee benefits.
I don't think there are any penalties. I don't believe ogre illusion has a stun resist component. I could be wrong. I just can't remember ever using it on my enchanter.

Gnomish pretty much hit it on the head. The benefits vary from Illusion to Illusion but you won't get any of the penalties naturally associated with that race.
Illusion: Skeleton just alters your appearance, it doesn't affect you in any way besides making you undead (Unless I'm forgetting something from my Enchanter days?). Though, I wonder if it makes you friendly to other undead? Or do they just see through it?

I remember running through Kith in skeleton form. I never got whacked but maybe I just got lucky,too.

Ogre illusion should not have a melee stun resistance component and I'm pretty sure it doesn't here.

Troll illusion grants an extra 1hp per tick, not really as good as what trolls get intrinsically. Most other illusions just tweak faction about. | ||
