Starting up on Twitch.tv
Hey guys, are any of you good with the technicalities of Twitch?
I want to get a stream started but its not as easy (or "free") as I thought. Downloaded XSplit, was about to get set up, then found out I needed to buy a licence for $15. Are there any free and decent alternatives out there? Greedy bastards.

Should probably send Tiggles a pm, I know he has some experience with this.
I've never done it before but would be interested to know how it all works, so if you find out any additional info please post it here! We were thinking of getting my girl set up with a feed to see if we can make some money on the side just having fun. How does the monetary side of twitch.tv work?

OBS is free and most people(myself included) get much better performance for the same stream quality
the only real downside to OBS is that the UI and features are not quite as sophisticated as XSplit's but it has come a long way since they first released it
