open your eqclient.ini

make sure you change the video mode settings on all of the available video mode options, not just winEQ (if you are using winEQ)

it should look like this (change the numbers to reflect what resolution you actually want to use though, as you can see for mine its 1920x1080)

Height=1080
WidthWindowed=1920
HeightWindowed=1080
WindowedWidth=1920
WindowedHeight=1080
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
WinEQWidth=1920
WinEQHeight=1080

If thy numbers dont all match you will have random black screen crashes (or at least this could be one of the causes)
