Back on this again. Thanks for the full text. As we can see, this wasn't an official source but a discussion forum, and there are some mistakes found on other songs. For example, it claims the level 3 song restores mana, and this was proven to be an urban myth.

While I was looking for help for a CR in MM yesterday, since going in naked with a flute to get my corpse proved to be impossible since invis song keeps dropping, I decided to do a bit more research.

There is only one mention of invis song in the 'early' patch notes:

http://www.tski.co.jp/baldio/patch/20000203.html

It's when see invis was added and the incredibly short range was just made short. So technically, see invis should be removed and the range should be reduced further on Teal/Green [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I haven't found a smoking gun yet, since again it is very difficult to look for evidence of the absence of something, but in these 2 old guides, they talk about invis song, and the first one doesn't mention the chance for it to drop, and the second, talks about how you can get the message but never actually appear:

Your first link is using a negative to attempt to prove a positive, which is quite weak.

Your second link is from after the invis patch where the warning messages were added, and so doesn't apply to the current era that Green is in re:invis.

can you pinpoint the 'invis patch' to me? I would like to cross-reference it with bard forums to see if there was any reaction.

I agree that it is weak, because it is difficult, akin to proving a black hole exists because there isn't any light coming from a spot.

thanks in advance,

Astuce
