Back after 13 years
Hi all !
after 13 years of playing nearly every major MMO on the market, I now return to Everquest, and it feels like I am finally coming home! First thing after getting everything ready to join Project 1999: OMG I missed that music !!!! Second thing after creating first character: OMG I missed those old graphics, the sounds, the laughing of the skeletons !!!! Third thing: OMG I cannot play together with my husband…..but we are working on that (yes, we followed the instructions here in this forum), luckily we have all time in the world. At the time I quit back in 2004, I played a lvl 65 half elf Paladin on german server Kael Drakkal, I just got started with End Content, I was accepted in one of the two or three high-end raid guilds on that server (actually I remember that there were two really big high end raid guilds, but I think there was a third one also…mine was named “Verdict”). Unfortunately, only about 4 to 6 weeks after the beginning of my end content raiding career, RL struck with some tragic events that made me quit EQ. Back than this was the only logic decision, but now, looking back, I should not have quit EQ back then… Of course after RL issues were getting better, I really wanted to get back into MMO, so of course with my husband, we did participate in WoW, Vanguard, Warhammer, Aion, Rift, SWTOR, Guildwars 2, and many others I am sure I have forgotten most of the names already …. But the feeling, the atmosphere, the gaming experiences, the community, nothing felt like it did in EQ (especially the community….). I made so many wonderful experiences, friends, I met my husband in EQ (thanks to EQ I am a very happy girl that has the privilege to live her live together with the love of her life). EQ was my very first computer game ever….I never played any other RPG or any other game on the computer before , so you can imagine, that I was one of the biggest Noobs ever …… but I had so many funny , wonderful moments, it was just great ! Maybe my husband will also share some of his experiences … Anyway…. to keep this post not too long….. I am ready to get back, and have a good time. We will surely not be power leveling, or trying to duplicate or re-create our old EQ chars again, we do not have that much time nowadays for such issues….we will play from time to time, you could call it “part-time-gaming” maybe (casual of course)….. our RL has a firm grip on us, so it could happen that we are not online every day, but we will have our share of fun !! Looking forward to seeing all of you! Cheers Hudika | ||

Welcome back.
I am certainly enjoying my "part-time-gaming" as well. I think EQ really works for casuals. Makes those experiences of getting a group and playing a couple hours a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy yourself here.

Look forward to meeting you.
This server is very laid back, or at least in the common area, i haven't jumped back into the raid scene yet so not sure of poop socking and FTE (first to engage) races still happen. I haven't felt the effects of it yet nor do i see it on these forums. welcome home
