Quest Issue: Mystic Dolls / Lizard Dolls

As I recall, Mystic Dolls didn't drop on P99 Green until the Kunark era in conjunction with the Rallos Zek Initiate quest being made available. However, there is a Lizard Dolls quest available in the Classic era that rewards players for turning in two mystic dolls.

- This Feb 2000 Everlore quest listing has a reference to the quest: "Mystic Dolls Quest" (the contents of the quest page wasn't captured)

Additionally, the item seems to have been changed from +1 CHA to +3 CHA and was made NO DROP in Sep 1999. Probably not worth gating the change, but I'm including these comments because they were the most conclusive evidence I could find of the the quest and dolls existing prior to Kunark.

I bought a Mystic Doll from an NPC for a few gold several weeks back. Its suppose to be usable by all races and classes and offer +1 CHR. However, it does NOTHING.

Anyone else find one of these and get them to work? They are rather funny looking...but thats it.

I found a magic item called a "Mystic Doll". It says its +1 Charisma
but I can't get it to activate. It's in my inventory and I can't equip
it anywhere. I'm a Dark Elf ShadowKnight. How do I make it work?

There is a doll that gives +1 mana also. i got if off of a lizard man
mystic.

They went a little overboard on the nerfing this time! Since I first
logged in after yesterday's VERY long patch I noticed some problems with
my inventory right away. I swear they are making changes to the game
without any thought at all. Just pointing here and there saying “nerf
that, and nerf that too. Ah, what the hell, nerf that.” And note this is
just MY inventory. Who knows what else they changed. There have to be
some tremendous morons over there at Verant to come up with the changes
I listed here.

Mystic Doll (now a NO DROP item)

This is a stupid trivial item that I now have to carry with me
everywhere I go. Are Mystic Dolls really so exploited they need to be No
Drop? I like to keep my Charisma gear in the bank till I need it, thank
you.

I'm new to that area, and just killed a lizard that had this doll. It's +3
CHA and no-drop.

I'm a druid with decent CHA...another 3 isn't going to do me much good.

Is there another use for this doll? A quest item, perhaps?

Those things are quite common. The last time I tried to sell one to a
merchant was before they became no-drop, so I don't know if merchants
will buy them or not. But aside from using it yourself, that's about
your only option.
