Default Best starting stats for dark elf wizard?

The wiki says... "For Dark Elves add 25 Intelligence and 5 Strength." Is that good?

I've never really played wizard that much so I'm not sure. Do they need stamina at all? I guess, ideally, they shouldn't be taking damage in the first place though.

Wizards have pretty low starting strength, only 65 after adding 5 points. Would it be a terrible idea to put 10 points into STR instead of only 5? To help with weight limit. Being a dark elf, the nearest vendor/banker I'm able to use probably won't be too close most of the time. So a little extra weight limit might help.

wizards have a terrible stam to HP conversion, so putting 5 points onto stam is only worth about 4 hp at level 60. don't do it.

you also don't actually need the STR. wiz gear is inherently light (cloth). it's still the only place that you might actually benefit besides INT, tho. the best approach is max INT.

Don't put points into stam. Its much smarter to cap your int so you can sacrifice int gear for +HP/Mana/Resist gear. You will get infinitely superior net benefit to your survivability and total damage output.
Str doesn't really matter much you can get weight reducing bags after all.
But there is nothing wrong with +5 str. You will lose out on a whopping 10hp though.

it's best to distribute stats to either fix your weaknesses or emphasize your strengths... so i'd say dump points in cha (so you won't be ugly anymore) or agi (with high DE agi you'll be very dodgy which will help with your low health)

Alarti's got it right. Plus, you're a wizard: you can teleport to a vendor when you need to sell stuff.

Other than int, you won't notice any real difference no matter what you put your stats in. At least str will give you a few extra pp you can carry when porting.
