First bad xml files then "incorrect Titanium version" files?

So I've been having this game run perfectly fine for years and years... up until the most recent update files. Then suddenly none of my UI files would work completely, not even the default UI. I had missing hotbars that would never show up, the big EQ button in-game was completely gone, etc... but still the game would run fine despite all that.

I've not changed any of the files in my install other than overwriting all the files included in the update zips (which I have always done before with no issues) now suddenly today I can't even log into the game because it says that:

"One or more of your EQ files are not the correct Titanium version for P99" ?????
DSETUP.DLL (3585375160)

Any idea on what could have caused these in the first place?
