Well. I musta been on some good drugs cuz page 3 has a post dated dec 9 1999 said mayong was already gone.
Memory is a fallible thing indeed. And a bit of wishful thinking.

That would be COOL custom content.
A dev commented years ago there was a lake monster in rathe, but it never made it to live. It was said to be a short lived thing during one of the phases of beta. Mayong was short lived on Live though and then removed, then iirc he was used in 1 or 2 GM events.

IIRC there were some GM events (or maybe just one event) where he was in the game as an NPC, so it's possible you were in MM leveling when that happened haha

They could at the very least drop the prelaunch luclin patch, pretty sure that included newbie armor quests, jaggedpine and Veksar among other things. Would be a good start.

I remember Mayong rampaging through MM was a Halloween 1999 event on Tribunal.
