Mr. Telin,

I've discovered some additional areas missing particle effects on P99, I've found some images for you to work with:

Ry`Gor Fort in Eastern Wastes: The big bonfire should have smoke rising up from it

https://web.archive.org/web/20050301...g/EQ000215.jpg
https://web.archive.org/web/20030310...RygorrRaid.jpg
https://web.archive.org/web/20031014...g/dwarf_02.jpg
https://web.archive.org/web/20030121...in_velious.jpg
https://web.archive.org/web/20030201...g/dwarf_07.jpg

This is the only image I could find, but apparently Dragon Necropolis has a waterfall, I believe it is over the lair of that shade dragon. This image was taken right near the zone in, one of the first dragon bones is in the foreground:

There's a few other areas I need to check into such as Fear exit portal and FV statue, Carts in Kaladim or Droga, I think some skulls with eyebeams in Najena... haven't gotten around to it yet on P99. I know there are a lot of steam vents in the lava pools in VP but I'll never get in there to verify they exist.

On a separate note, can you please provide an explanation of why these environmental effects can't be viewed at any type of far distance? Some of them are just gorgeous, here are various images of the Thurg waterfall, there is even a 2nd waterfall in the background but I can't even tell if it is enabled on P99 because I need to be like 10ft away from the Thurg fall to see it, the area behind the first fall is unreachable so there's no chance of me viewing the 2nd fall currently:

I've known about the Ry`Gor fort particle effect, but the necropolis waterfall is a new one.

The client has a built in clip plane for environmental particles that I do not have a way of fixing atm. So that is why you have to get close to see them.

I wonder if there is a way to circumvent this... could you, for example, make the waterfall an npc that is untargetable, and their body model are the particle effects? It would just be a very long animation that loops, such as they are dancing.

It was at this point I decided to no longer be kind to the casuals as they have extreme short term memory. They did this to themselves, unfortunately.

As a long time player on live, it took me a while to drink the P99 kool-aid. But I'm a believer now. The staff are fantastic and so is the community. Way better than anything live ever had.

Thanks for your hard work, Telin!

Hmm IDK about that

I camped fear for a month checking every day for the broken golem spawn - only for it to be discovered that they had done something with the factions and the broken golem was getting gibbed by the other mobs in fear when it spawned.

I petitioned weekly and asked for the GMs to just spawn the golem so I could kill it with a raid group

GM just handed me the oil and said "month is long enough" and ported me to lavastorm to turn in to get my Wizard epic
