I totally recommend the Red server during Blue downtime. Go hang out there and Thedonn will try to ruin your reputation and get you suspended for trying to get up the newbie lift!!

It's usually pretty stable. Had a couple of down times like this in the last month or so...

Since I joined about two weeks ago, this is the second downtime longer than 30min I've experienced. Often by commercial standards, but I don't really know what is normal to expect from a volunteer-run server. Also, these two extended downtimes were both during normal work hours, so I just kind of assume they can't get away from real life jobs to tinker with an EQ server.

I actually had things to get done today, so I'm trying to be thankful :P. At least, if I can peel myself away from refreshing the server status...

One of the networking guys in /gu would get really mad when I would say "the server was down" when really it was just the switch or some other thingamabob.

So yeah, I guess it's not down but you can't get there from here.

Pretty stable? This was a daily occurrence for awhile. It's still pretty frequent.
