Default Bane of Nife: To mem or not to mem?

I bought bane on a whim. My sham is 56 with a fungi and JBB no epic. I was thinking it would help kill geos solo when time or server population doesn’t allow duoing/grouping there.

l don’t think I’ll ever get an epic. Think this will help speed up the grind or find situational solo work for a sans-epic 60? I’ll likely get torp eventually even if it’s means pawning fine steel.

Thanks!

Thanks [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

Hard to find it for sale so I jumped figuring I could sort it out later. Glad to know it's still used. Figured I could at least stack that an ebolt as a faux-epic. 3k hps/min'ish is pretty nasty dps.

/nod. It's not as efficient as pox, but it makes you feel like a dps with those big ticks [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I imagine it becomes a lot better at 60 w/ torpor. I'm still not there yet, cannot speak from personal experience.

Been a while since I checked, but aren't epic and torpor about the same price?

I think I used it heavily pre-60/Torpor, but like anything with Shaman it depends on what you're fighting. I was doing a ton of root/rotting in HS basement, and it was great when combined with disease dots and epic curse, especially with casters there (who you want to root around a corner and "burn down" as quickly as possible).

If you're not using epic and doing more of a slow/tank/JBB-a-lot style, then you still might use it, but probably not as much, since it is less efficient mana-wise.

Thanks all [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

Yea really trying to conserve my plats. Gonna pick up the two chardok earrings mainly as I expect to sit out the next three levels on geos and those shams LOVE to dot.

I can't see getting the epic unless I consolidate my toons plat and get really serious about maining the shaman. Hopefully I'll have enough for torp at 60; that would be a big win in my book.

Overall so far bane has been really nice. The clinging dark symbol keeps them from running too quick and I usually re-cast bane at about 30% health. For the shams I malo and stack bane and ebolt, canni, and jbb spam as quick as possible. Two poison dots is a ton of mana but so long as I keep enough mana for gate it seems a solid plan to burn them down.

Of course...with a bit more game time a duo would be the best path. A monk would certainly cut down the mouse clicks and nerves. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
