- do any of you recall people putting life expectancy on EQ (aside from hardcore burnout raiders maybe)?

i thought most of us were psyched out and wanted more and more.

EQ? meh maybe a few months. Me and my friends would have continued playing in era had Luclin not blown shit in our face. That was two years of EQ at least. Then DAoC which was about 3-4 months for me, about the same time for Shadowbane.

Maybe EQ, UO are the only worthy exceptions to an otherwise lackluster and shit genre.

Just looks like a mix of ESO and GW2 to me. Too jaded from the industry to bother playing yet another corporate churned solo-oriented kill/collect questfest where are the classes are just different colors of faceroll DPS with a gimmick.

Not sure yet. Doesn't seem epic enough. But who knows?

It's hard to take anyone serious that says they like it. To enjoy it in 2020 you must have very limited playtime with MMOs in the post-Wow era to think that there is anything new or exciting about new world. Definitely feels like Rift/GW2/ESO/FFXIV/etc.

It still fails to solve the innate issues with the long term balancing of a pvp focused end-game (GW2 wvwvw) with care bear dungeon/raid/incursion_rngbox itemization and crafting.

I didn't give a shit about the queues because even though it's Amazon and they should be able fix it, it's almost a given for any MMO launch. Hell, Blizzard still has issues with game / expansion launches from time to time and they should be pros at this point.

My issue came Friday, when I decided to login to play with my non-elf pals on Mag Mell, and decided to remake my character because she looked like a total derper on the character select page. After deleting, I found they had locked about half of the US West servers. Since it seems to be based off number of characters created instead of current population, it's been locked since then. I have 10+ friends on that server, so it's not like they can all just transfer to a different server without someone already having ties on the current.

So I currently can't play, nor can I refund since I've apparently spent 4 hours on the initial queue and also just from number of attempts of seeing if the server was available yet. At this point, I'd love to sit in queue if it meant I could actually play at some point.

I played Rift, GW2, and FF14 and it doesn't feel like any of those to me. /shrug

As far as end-game content, I'm not there yet, so I can't comment on that. I'm level 33 so far, but fell behind the curve due to working. Lot's are into the 40s now and a handful of 50+. I imagine we'll get a lot more info on end-game stuff in the next 1-2 weeks.
