Trouble logging on in certain zones?

I seem to be having connection troubles. I reach the character selection screen just fine, but if I choose ones that are in certain zones (Lake of Ill Omen and Firiona Vie have given me the most frustration so far), it will hang as if it's progressing to the loading screen, and then I get kicked back to the account login. No errors, no other clues. Just straight to the account screen. And when I try again, i'll get the "active character" error for the first few tries before proceeding back to character selection.

Any ideas?

At first my client was straight crashing when trying to log into a server, now I get unknown error occurred.

Also can't go straight to p99 website or ping it, but through google search works (assuming dns..)

I'm getting your error too, now, but this problem has been going on for days on my end.

Quick update since I can't seem to edit my original post; this problem is persisiting both using, and not using WinEQ2. Also during off-peak hours, woke up in the wee hours of the morning to see if I could get in but I'm still stuck in Firiona Vie.

This is an obvious step, but have you run "ipconfig /flushdns" through command prompt?

Otherwise, if it's specific zones I'm wondering if your zone files could have been corrupted. That's the only other hunch I have.
