Something new and fun! (Not exactly "war" centric)
Police officers in moscow today are stopping people, demanding to see their phones, reading their messages, and refusing to release them if they refuse. this from kommersant journalist ana vasilyeva. https://imgur.com/gallery/dvnggbC

Everyone knows Trump doesn’t like NATO. Trump even recently insulted NATO saying they were stupid to think that just the threat of sanctions would prevent Putin from invading Ukraine. And indeed it appears he was right, Putin has been apparently spending years attempting to sanction-proof his country
But not liking NATO and saying they are dumb and pulling the United States out of NATO (can the president alone even do this btw? Just wondering) are two different things So far it seems the “evidence” of this is 1. The guy that Trump fired who’s not at all mad about that saying he “believes” and 2. The guy that Trump fired saying it to a few other people who I have yet to see them corroborate it in quotes that they themselves heard from Trump. Does anyone have quotes of this? It looks flimsy, and at this point it’s irrelevant anyway

Here ya’ll go, from the progressive as shit Guardian:
“In fact, the organisation was established by a formal and binding treaty, which means Trump cannot use his executive power to pull America out of the alliance, in contrast to other international agreements such as the Iran nuclear deal or the Paris climate agreement, both of which Trump has withdrawn from” Oops, looks like Trump can’t even do it if he wanted to, which it can’t be proven that he even did Hey, speaking of the Iran Nuclear deal…

We are on day 12 of the Russo-Ukrainian War.
The Russian forces have stalled on every front. While making some gains in the south, they have not taken Mariupol even after several days of isolation and shelling. In the east their gains are minimal. While very close to the Russian border, Kiev is not surrounded, not even invested. Everyone made a great deal of how the Russians captured the airport with special forces and would begin to fly in reinforcements. Those guys got killed and chased out as the airport changed sides several times and now it's unusable and no one is flying anything into it. I read that FSB report. It's probably fake, but it's on point. Russia is heading for a collapse. Economic, social and also very important, military. I'm expecting mutiny and Putin's removal by the armed forces. Hopefully the minute that happens the United States will declare war on Russia and immediately demand unconditional surrender.

Russia is now demanding:
a) Ukraine to cease military action b) Ukraine to change its constitution to enshrine neutrality c) Ukraine to acknowledge Crimea as Russian territory d) Ukraine to recognize the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk as independent territories In exchange the Russians will cease all offensive operations. The one demand that is missing from the initial batch is "Ukraine to demilitarize". Soon the only Russian demand will be "Ukraine to make the hurting stop!"

I think if he can get those demands met he can go back to russia and tell everyone he won, then any stress they get from sanctions he can spin as the nazi west trying to starve them out and we can all go back to life before the troop buildup.
