Default Anyone remember Ingame Message Boards?

Back before I started playing was this really a feature of the old client? I started right after Luclin came out. This video is from TAKP ( The Al'Kabor Project ), which the main client people use is a very old one from around the PoP era, so the old UI is still build into the client.

Anyway do you folks remember this? was it really used much?

I don't remember this, but it looks cool as hell.

I started a thread about it back in medieval ages ~2010:
http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7503

I think it's mainly an immersion thing today, since OOC and forums are better. I think most people think it's just fluff, like the board games (*) which were in Ultima Online ~1999. However, in those days not nearly as many people were forum goers as today.

And yes I remember using the message board in the Inn in Qeynos. 1999/2001. We hadn't landed on the moon yet, so I had no knowledge of the moon cats or aliens.

You got some quick recall, read that thread just now. Never used them before but it sure seems like a quirky / fun feature even if not used by many. To bad don't think we could pull it off on the Titanium client.

On Prexus it had a ton of junk posts on it when I looked in Highkeep... never used it or made much sense to me, but was an interesting feature. If they'd stuck a board like that at the EC tunnel it could have been good [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
