Default Bonechips: Nobody seems to buy them anymore

I remember when I first started on p99 one of the first items I sold at EC was stacks of bone chips. It was the go to thing to sell on a new character. Lately I've made a few alts and saved them up to make some starter cash but countless attempts have proven fruitless. I see people offering them at the tunnel but I can't seem to sell them anymore. It's ok though because honestly an easily obtainable item like chips selling for 5-10p per stack always seemed kind of weird to me. Any thoughts on this?

Seems like tons of people been selling em lately so it's market saturation. As far as the price of them, I don't mind paying 10pp a stack, saves me time and hopefully helps a newer character out a bit. I guess it's all about finding a niche.

Better to try and sell them in EC if anywhere. Greater Faydark definitely has more sellers than buyers (sadly).

I noticed the same with other newbie farmed items. I leveled a necro in commonlands recently. While I kept all my bonechips, my attempts to sell several stacks of spiderling and spider silks never got a buyer. The only thing that sold was HQ bear pelts, and those were always snatched right up at 30p.

Yeah, there always seems to be a demand for pelts. I'm guessing weight reduction bags. I think the most money I've made is waiting for hhk basement and farming ears but that doesn't come until much later. I haven't farmed silk in a while. Sometimes it was hard to do in karana because there is always a bard kiting the spiders. I've made a few iksar so I'm interested to see how well theirs sells from FoB. Spiderling silk gets grabbed up really fast from what I remember so when I make my darkelf rogue maybe I'll make a few starter plat with her.

Bone chips is a niche item. We sk and necro needs some for our spells, but we don't need that much at once... Besides us bone chips have 2 other uses... Quickly leveling newbies and raising factions, these are the two uses where multiple stacks are needed at once... Find someone doing either and you can unload all your bone chips at once... That or sell one or two stack at once for sk/nec... For reference, to fix all faction in cabilis, I had to turn in around 80 backpacks of bone chips... If you would have been around fob/kurns when I was doing that you would have had no issue to sell me any amount of bone chips...

Yeah, I did that with my dorf cleric a while back. Got him from 1-15ish with 5 bags of bone chips or something. I forget exactly how much. It's been a while.

There's also no bone chips on velious, you can certainly sell stack for way more than the usual 10...but not really an option for low level looking for money...
