Nektulos moss snakes not dropping snake scales

I'm pretty sure they should be a fairly common drop and are a component to a Neriak quest, but I've killed numerous moss snakes in Nektulos Forest and not seen one.

Okay they do drop. Just seem pretty rare, unless I'm real unlucky.
