Default Throwing skill.

Sorry, really quick and easy question that I didn't see answered in the wiki under skills/items or in my forum search (I fail at those plenty).

Finally convinced my wife to play this game and she is playing a monk.

Throwing skill - is the distance she can throw limited by the weapon and/or skill? I've read people talking about throwing weapons and which to get for max distance. We bought her two stacks of shurikens (which the wiki said are the furthest vendor bought, stacking throwing weapons) but it seems like she almost has to be standing on top of the mob for them to work.

Is that the item or does she just need to level the skill up?

Thanks.

They are kinda bad. I believe range 40? It's slightly better than literally standing on top of the mob to pull it from a getting hit perspective. There's better ranged items you can acquire later on. The CoV throwing hammer bracelet. Javelins. Overall, I wouldn't expect to get much benefit from leveling the skill. Throwing is a low agro means of getting on a mob's agro table and not much more than that. It's a bit different for rogues when we can proc assassinates at 60, but it's not a practical damage skill besides maybe throwing boulders?

Ok thanks, so it's just their distance not tied to throwing skill.

Appreciate it!
