Default Damage cap question.

My epic rogue is level 13, and is meleeing for 40s at the highest

Wiki says:

levels 10-19 - damage cap is 28

Why am I bypassing this cap?

Is the wiki just out of date?

Backstab goes over the cap. Normal Melee shouldn't.

It isn't really a hard cap. High strength will cause you to hit for somewhat more than those damage caps with normal melee.

The damage caps refer to the maximum modal hit based on weapon damage (2x). In other words, a damage cap of 28 means a 14 dmg/30 delay weapon will (all other factors being equal) deal the same amount of damage as a 200 dmg/30 delay weapon. However, this cap does not prevent a character from benefitting from the normal max hit formula posted above. So a level 15 character, for example, with a weapon skill of 80 and 220 strength would have a max hit of 42 when using a weapon with 14 or more damage.

((220+80)/100)*14
