like I don't think he was a regressive liberal but it was pretty clear that the Liberals don't agree with his ideology and they have voted to be, regressive over non regressive.

like okay if you consider yourself a non non regressive liberal then surely you remember when you were trying to delineate yourself between libertarianism and you told yourself, no there's no such thing as a non gop/Republican libertarian. Libertarian policy only helps Republicans in the long run. Whil socialist progressive policies do not.

now if you believe that a libertarian and the Republican are entirely different people, then I'll allow you to believe that there is such thing as regressive and non regressive liberals.

but it'd be pretty hard for anyone even myself to argue that libertarian policy doesn't directly benefit the same people that support Republican policy.

so I think it's fair for any progressive or liberal to admit that though they identify themselves as a non regressive the system doesn't allow for your ideology because the majority is regressive.

Does that make sense?

I respect you, so I don't want to come off like I am being pedantic a rude but I honestly don't think there is such thing as a truly non regressive liberal in the same sense that I don't believe that libertarianism doesn't benefit people who are Hardline Republican first and foremost.

that's a different question entirely. my point is words matter, their definitions matter and the problem of identity politics won't be solved by more identity politics. to your point, though none came to mind honestly lol, my immediate counterpoint would be intense internal fighting in the party has caused those voices to be drowned out and real self-censorship has been going on for a while now by these people who don't want to be crucified on twitter or lose their job

Identity politics from the beginning of time have got us to where we are right now which right now despite its flaws is pretty cool.

so maybe identity politics isn't such a bad thing maybe it's certain identities that should just be avoided.

We gave identities to everything, crime, relationships, work it's how we understand the world that we live in so why not have identities for morality, economy etc?

identities are like cultures, these are political cultures, and I have no problem with cultures I think every culture should be celebrated I don't think that we should all evolve into one global Society so why should we try to evolve into one political Society?
