We did these last week trio. We had shaman, shadow knight and a 50 ranger that swapped to a monk after harmonying for pulling. It was rather slow going and as the shaman I wasn’t able to dot to help with kill speed. I spent 99% of my time canni/torp after slowing the mob. Would have went much faster with one more DPS. Also, the Shadow Knight was 56 so he was taking some big hits.

We've 3 manned these a good amount with shaman/monk/rogue but prefer to have a cleric as well to make my job a lot easier.

Duo-ed this a bunch with an exceptional torpor shaman in the Kunark era. Quick tash proc was key.

I imagine it's lots easier now in Velious gear.

Not saying it's impossible but I'm a bit skeptical unless you're chugging wort pots like they grow on trees.

What was the other class besides shaman? I'd think it'd have to be a monk or a ranger to be able to split spawns and tank.

What gear did you have? What was your strategy? (pre-torpor on pull, malo, then both hitting with Jsticks to try and get a tash off, then malosini or straight to slow?

Was me on my monk. Was back in the day before the sneak-pulling nerf. No wort pots or soulfires. Torpor and malo on inc. Hope for a quick slow. Dual JWSs until tash. DS pot when I remembered.

Dicey but effective.

Dredging thru old logs is brutal, but

Here's a sample from GamParse:
/GU A guardian wurm in 710s, 29k @41dps --- Cloki 29k @41dps (100%)
/GU Healing for: Cloki -vs- A guardian wurm: -- Nimbletoe: 20696

the Ancient Wyverns are much easier:
/GU An ancient wyvern in 599s, 32k @54dps --- Cloki 31k @52dps (96.5%) --- Xeber 1k @2dps (3.5%) --- Nimbletoe 0k @0dps (0%)
/GU Healing for: Cloki -vs- An ancient wyvern: -- Nimbletoe: 3851

Look at the difference in heals needed between the two.

You can see that they're silly long fights.

Here are teh high points from a log of a that particular wurm fight:

[Mon Aug 26 11:23:30 2013] You begin to sneak...
[Mon Aug 26 11:23:56 2013] You hit a guardian wurm for 2 points of damage.
[Mon Aug 26 11:24:09 2013] A guardian wurm glances nervously about.
[Mon Aug 26 11:24:13 2013] A guardian wurm looks very uncomfortable.
[Mon Aug 26 11:24:28 2013] A guardian wurm yawns.
[Mon Aug 26 11:26:24 2013] A guardian wurm is consumed by the raging spirits of the land.
[Mon Aug 26 11:30:16 2013] A guardian wurm yawns.
[Mon Aug 26 11:35:14 2013] You have slain a guardian wurm!

Really a longass fight, but pretty doable if you get a slow in fairly early.

I have to expect it would be much, much easier in Velious gear. I had pretty shitty stuff in Aug of 2013.

Cowpie (60 sham) and I (60 bard) duo'ed these pre-Velious.

It's as Cloki says (hi btw), long fights but doable.

good times.

Nice! I can remember there being some real pain in the ass wurms that would resist slow for 1/2 your mana. And occasionally the roamers would wander in. Sounds like a fun challenge though!
