Is there any place for a newbie troll to make a few plat for spells and gear? I haven't been able to find any low level armor quests for this area. Currently I am just killing froglocks near the Guk zone hoping for them to drop money and sellable items.

Welcome to Project 1999! There are really no armor quests that I know of besides the Sol Ro class armor quests in the 20's - 40's (Lambent, Ivy Etched, Crafted, etc.)

If you're looking for things to kill and sell for plat, you might want to consider getting to EC/WC and killing bears for HQ bear pelts, which usually sell for 25-30pp each. There are also plenty of players in EC that are more than happy to buff you up or toss some plat/gear your way, if that's what you want.

if you're on red the gaz squire is near entrance and only around lvl 20 and drops a range spear with good resists worth like 500-1k plat, but otherwise not so much. go beg in EC, shits classic.

But you don't need gear, wear mesh and take your homeland back! Destroy those frogsez!

I am only level 4 so the quests I was talking about would be similar to the Curscale armor in Cabilis. Thanks for the input though.

You don't need armor as badly, having regen is nicer than any armor. Also, curscale is like the same AC as mesh, just enjoy mesh. Uguk is like the richest newb area in the game. Get yourself full backpacks (or splurge on alchemy bags for less weight) and start carrying EVERYTHING to vendors. I probably make like 800p by lvl 20 just vendoring trash on my troll SK.

or if you wan than outs run to EC.

Thanks for the advice. I only played live as good races so have never been in this area much. What level does Upper Guk become doable for a shaman?

Your best bet is to stick outside until at least level 5/6. Stay near the ent I bet you anything some high lvl will run by and buff you/give you items.
