I did play the original Everquest from around April of 1999 so not exactly new to the game but everything over the years has made it hard for me to remember the game . I did make a /corpse and /loc immediately as I remember dying a lot and never finding my corpse again. I did love this game to death when I played it until 2002.

I used to play in the over the shoulder view but I can no longer accept that because it restricts the view so I used the scroll in first person view to go back as far as possible since the third person view is totally unplayable for me because it keeps rotating when I use the mouselook with it. Still cannot see well behind me so I must find a way to work the third person camera.

I am playing a Barbarian Shaman and I hope to be able to group with some of you and I hope you will accept my rather green skills. I play healers in other games but I was worried about rolling a cleric here and the slow levelling process so opted for a shaman instead.

I will be shivering in my scant clothing in Halas . My name is Xandora I know not a very good Barb name but those that I wanted were taken.

Oh dear I decided to play a necromancer instead.I have not played the shaman at all . The Necromancer is in Freeport and is called Kiyora and I am trying to raise faction all day. I have met some nice people who threw me buffs and someone who helped me by buying the gate spell for me since I was afraid to set foot in the Cleric and casters guild.

when I'm outdoors and I am just sitting still meditating or whatever I zoom WAY WAY WAY WAY out so I can stay safe.

if i'm indoors though? back against the wall, first person view.

In battle I'll also usually use first person view, unless you're quadding or swarming or whatnot first person is fine in a fight usually.

Welcome to P99. I highly recommend the monk for a first char if you find you like melee. Quality cheap gear combined with the ability to solo and being highly desired in groups is a good combination. I started a necro, leveled him to 24 and then I got bored of soloing and made a monk alt. Next thing i knew my monk was 60 and my necro was still 24.

That being said, its a bit of a personal choice so find what you like to play and go with it!
