Brand new laptop - yellows are way dark.

Yup, tried that. It gives me a few sliders to adjust the overall tone (too red, too blue, etc). In this case it's just my yellows that are too dark. I tried to increase brightness on red and green and that just made everything else look worse.

try adjusting your display's ambient lighting (the one that automatically adjusts based on the brightness in your room).

mine is adjusted via the blue fn key (function) combined with the up/down arrows
