You certainly can, but it's not quite so simple to manually merge/sync friends lists from say 6 different toons so that you can have access to everyone you've added to any toon. Some people like editing multiple text files repeatedly though since it's truly that classic experience, and I can respect that. Whatever works for ya [You must be logged in to view images. Oh, and don't forget about the ignore lists, the tool can merge/sync those too.
