Default Noob Level 20 Ranger Damage Question

I mainly play casters, but the other day I leveled my Ranger alt from 19 to 20. As soon as he hit 20 (ie. before any skill training) his hits went from 28 to 60!

Stupid question time: why did his damage jump so much at 20? Does some kind of cap go away go away at that level?

weird "10" dmg cap before level 10, and weird "30" dmg cap before level 20.
i say weird because it seems to be still depending a bit on weapon, whether it's one or two hand, and maybe STR?

But yeah, for a twink weapon for example, you'd be better with a low dmg weapon with a great ratio than a huge two hander.

There is actually another dmg cap until level 30, albeit a much smaller difference; not sure about the number [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Ah, that's what I was really looking for. I'm a pretty heavy wiki user but a lot of stuff gets buried in there.
