If you want a good compromise between being powerful but also not constantly having to do shit, go with necro. Can just feign death and go take care of things real quick. No buffs to keep up, minimal CC responsibility.

As a raiding High Priest, I can assure you that unless you spec evo, Clerics have VERY limited solo ability that completely disappears once you hit 50.

If you roll Cleric and aren't willing to fully commit to a life of soloing after 30, you WILL live in a group, but you will have ZERO problems finding one.

Also, your epic will be the most important in the game, and you can make the big bucks as a traveling rezzer once you have it.
