A real man doesn't need a prayer shawl. Prayers are for the weak and for the scared.

It would be for my Necro.

I usually dish out fear, not victim of it.

I'm interested in completing the Coldain Shawl quest, but I have never once touched any trade skills.

I know the Wiki has skill level requirements on the quest page, but some tradeskills require using other tradeskills to level up (like using Pottery and Blacksmithing to help with Baking)

Is there a strictly "Quick way to go from fresh start to completing Coldain Shawl quest guide" out there?

Or should I just STFU and just play the game?
This is the way I did it. When I started P99, I did JC to 250 on my wiz. Yes you heard that right, WIZARD. I tipped chanters VERY WELL to do this. Then I sold my wares to pay for my addiction: lvling all other trades to max.

Then when the shawl came out, it was eazy peazy lemon squeezy. Basically no effort at all. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I haven't done the Shawl yet on p99 but did all 8 on Live. It was a chore but man was it cool to get it done. Felt kind of like a Velious epic! If it interests you I'd say go for it!

My personal viewpoint is: It is very far from worth the cost in lifespan and doing things that are actually fun.

Remember buying and reading books in the game? Like, it’s such a cool RPG if you play it like an RPG and have to talk to everyone and solve mysteries and talk to other players who might have done it.

We can remember those times fondly and enjoy this great ol game.

I remember those times... but I also remember being let down by the books.

For instance, I bought trade skill books in Halas, but then they were very incomplete, I couldn't actually do many of the recipes (because they didn't sell the materials to go with those books, in Halas at least), and I could find much better info on eqtraders.com (even back in 2000). They were a waste of my plat, which at that time was very precious.

Yep it sucked.

Plus you ask for advice and someone tells you to look inside that tree in black burrow and you get to see if you can train up from the snake pit at level 6. Usually a cool pal would help you get your dead body back once you found your way from
Halas again.

Still fun
