I was always a 'bernie bro' because I would prefer the poor people got free money instead of just living in shit and spreading their shit all over my nice things.

IF somehow it made them better people, then that was a bonus.

I think comercialsm is what prevents americans from realizing that we have the most opportunity of all, for example:

1. we dont want to be poor for obvious reasons (food/shelter/security)
2. commercialism makes us want to have stuff
3. we buy that stuff in place of food/shelter/security
4. poor again
5. repeat

Also the vast majority of Americans are just adult children who buy and play with toys because the 1980s were so awesome to grow up in they never want to let go of their childhood. That sure doesnt help (hello adult p99ers!)

What this country really, really needs.. is a good old, solid, real life depression part 2.

Personally, Id settle for a good old world war 3 as a consolation prize.

Labels matter, and focusing so much attention on the Nazi identity distracts from the reality of what the alt-right stands for and how common their brand of racial discomfort is in the psyche of every white american.

that's the thing a lot of people don't get though.

know thy enemy; the extreme white nationalist side of the alt right aren't just "white trash rednecks" if you're stuck thinking these people are last-generation kkk and neo nazi types you're going to end up fighting the wrong fight and lose horribly. new white nationalism is a very intellectual facts/statistics/evidence based reactionary movement. it's not "kill the nagroes cletus" anymore it's more like "let's compare FBI crime statistics and read the culture of critique"

to contrast, the current social justice left is a good example of the opposite -- an emotion driven, low IQ movement that foregoes facts and evidence for surface level warm fuzzy feelings. if the left or old-cuck right wants a chance against these people you have to acknowledge that on average they're smarter than you and they're more committed and knowledgeable about their ideaology than you. i don't mean the internet autist posters on here, who are probably intelligent people, i mean the average drone following your political movement.

it's also very misguided to think there's much of an idealogical tie to nazism outside of a mutual dislike for jews and the meme factor
