+ high risk-reward, an open social system, and unrestricted non-instanced pvp anywhere in the world. These are things red EQ had that most modern pvp MMOs lack. EQ's PvE was completely blended with the PvP, whether you liked it or not. If you wanted some item camp, odds are you would have to fight for it.

If we changed this thread to what makes eq pvp fun. It’s always been a fresh server.
Good luck cracking the code not using a fresh server model.

A lot of games had item decay. Only repairable X times. A lot of games proposed character death from old age, maybe with the inheritance of 1 item and a small set gold bequeathed to a new character, or heir. No ones had the guts yet to implement it. Once the MMO with entropy is made, rl, is made though. A smaller set of levels would be great too. Like 1-20 instead of 1-50 or 70. Would add a lot of flexibility to level range and more importance to stats. 12 or 13 lvl 1's maybe with one or two good items should be able to bring down a level 20. Anyways. Thems my feelings. Thx again for stopping by.

Character age death would be pretty savage.
Call it "the wheel of time" mmo so you're re-incarnating and you get to inherit something from your first play through. That's quite an "everquest" to max out the game you need to get to the point where your new incarnation has a full stack of BIS gear. haha!
