Yea every once in a while someone defends themselves from a marauding thug with their glorious arms and then everybody claps. irrelevant, places like Chicago with strict gun laws are some of the most crime ridden shitholes in the country.

until you can figure out a way to keep guns out the hands of criminals who aren't legally allowed to own them in the first place from having them no law-abiding citizen is going to give theirs up

only way to get to some non-gun having utopia is making every crime punishable by death, there is a even a star trek TNG episode about a society like that and they try to put Wesley to death for stepping on a flower bed.
